Service Policies
Repair Risks
Electronics repairs involve
inherent unpredictability. Your device might become irreparable or sustain
permanent damage during the repair process. Components on circuit boards can
degrade over time, leading to sudden failures, particularly evident in
liquid-damaged devices where oxidation, corrosion, and rust can occur.
Repairs on devices with glued-on
screens, such as iPads, may necessitate delicate handling, risking screen
damage despite our experienced approach. Touch ID/Face ID on Apple devices
might become unusable during repair, albeit infrequently. Integrated GPUs on
laptops and AIO computers, notably in older models like 2011 Macbooks/iMacs,
can also fail without warning.
Estimates
While we strive for comprehensive
estimates, it’s often challenging to identify every issue until work commences.
Estimates may evolve during servicing, and any changes will be communicated for
your approval before proceeding. Responsibility lies with the customer to seek
an estimate before service; upon device receipt, we assume the customer’s
intent to proceed with repairs.
Payment Options
For repairs up to $200, we accept
major credit/debit cards. Amounts exceeding $200 may require check/money order
or wire transfer for security. Invoices operate on a 30-day payment term;
failure to pay within this period may lead to device recycling.
Limited Shop Warranty
We offer a 60-day warranty on
repairs, covering re-service for recurring issues from the original work order.
Parts used are also warranted for 60 days. Warranty excludes certain scenarios
detailed below.
Warranty Exclusions
Our warranty doesn’t cover:
Services with non-CSD Electronics
parts
Software issues (e.g., virus
removal, OS installation)
New unrelated issues within the
warranty period
Hardware modifications during the
warranty period
User-induced damage or negligence
Warranty Repairs
Recurrence of issues related to
the original work order within 60 days qualifies for a no-cost repair. If
unrelated, repair cost details will be communicated before proceeding. Refunds
are contingent upon failed repair attempts after validation.
Estimate and Repair Time
We aim for swift repairs but
cannot guarantee timelines due to various factors. Service durations are
estimations based on past experiences and aren’t definitive guarantees.
Replacement Parts Procedure
We’ll inform you beforehand of
required parts, their necessity, associated costs, and estimated arrival. If
you opt to wait for parts, a non-refundable 50% deposit is required. We
generally use CSD Electronics parts due to quality assurance.
Repair Attempt Fee
Devices needing motherboard
repairs, data recovery, or previously serviced devices may incur a repair
attempt fee if unsuccessful. Fees range from $40-$100.
Shipping Policy
Instructions provided upon
mailing your device are strictly followed. Failure to request insurance
absolves us of liability for shipping damages. Devices sent in generic
packaging are returned likewise at the customer’s risk.
Data
While we take precautions, we
don’t guarantee data safety. Customers are advised to back up crucial data before
service. Data recovery for SSDs/HDDs incurs a specific cost.
Pickup Time Limit and Storage
Devices are held for 60 days
post-contact for pickup. Beyond this period, devices may be considered
abandoned, subject to sale or recycling to cover costs. Storage beyond 60 days
incurs a monthly fee of $40.
